I’ve traveled all over the United States and eaten Persian food in many different cities. From California to Texas to Nevada and beyond… Phoenix, Arizona actually has some hidden gems when it comes to Persian and Middle Eastern food.

These are my personal favorite Persian food restaurants in the Phoenix area ranked by flavor, consistency, quality, atmosphere, and kabobs.

#1 — Kabob Grill N Go

This is my personal favorite overall.

After traveling all over the USA, I honestly believe Tony’s kabobs are some of the best Persian-Armenian style kabobs in America. The flavor, charcoal fire taste, tenderness, and quality are next level.

The beef koobideh, chicken kabobs, saffron rice, grilled vegetables, and portions are incredible. This place has become a hidden gem in Phoenix and many locals consider it one of the best food spots in Arizona. (Tripadvisor)

The restaurant is family-owned and has built a cult following because the food tastes authentic and made with heart. If you go, order early because they often sell out.

#2 — Persian Room (Scottsdale)

If you want the full Persian dining experience with amazing kabobs, saffron rice, fresh bread, and upscale atmosphere, Persian Room is one of the most famous Persian restaurants in Arizona. Their koobideh and barg kabobs are legendary in Scottsdale. (Persian Room)

#3 — MidEast Eats

A great casual Persian and Mediterranean food spot in Phoenix with fresh bread, Persian flavors, and homemade style food. Their sangak bread and Persian-inspired dishes stand out.

#4 — De Babel

Technically more Middle Eastern and Mediterranean than strictly Persian, but the food quality is excellent. Great shawarma, grilled meats, and authentic flavors in Scottsdale.

Solid Mediterranean and Persian-inspired food in Phoenix with flavorful kabobs and large portions. Family-owned with a strong local following.

Phoenix Has Great Persian Food

Many people don’t realize how good the Persian food scene is in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, and surrounding Arizona cities.

From traditional koobideh kabobs to saffron rice, fresh sangak bread, grilled vegetables, hummus, lamb, chicken, and barg kabobs… Phoenix has some seriously underrated Persian food spots.
